Suppliers of equipment to two landmark battery storage projects in Western Australia have been awarded contracts worth more than a billion dollars from the state’s government.
More than AU$1 billion (US$0.65 billion) of financial commitments to large-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) projects were made in Australia in the second quarter of this year.
Australia’s government has made a AU$100 million (US$66.35 million) investment into the Waratah Super Battery, part of a total AU$500 million capital raise by the project’s developer.
