New South Wales has submitted an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for its Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ).

New South Wales has granted planning approval for battery energy storage system projects in the Australian state’s Renewable Energy Zones.

The Australian state of New South Wales (NSW) has received proposals for more than 34GW of solar, wind and energy storage for its South-West Renewable Energy Zone (REZ), more than 10 times the likely capacity of the site.

An energy company owned by the government of Queensland has recognised the “important role” battery storage will play in creating Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) hubs in the Australian state.
