An event on Monday (24 June) celebrated the opening of two large-scale battery storage systems in the service area of Arizona utility Salt River Project (SRP), including the southwest US state’s largest project of its type to date.

The New York State Inter-Agency Fire Safety Working Group has recommended changing the state fire code to better manage risks associated with battery storage systems installed in the US state.

Legislation that requires battery storage facilities to put in place safety and communication protocols has been signed into law.

Battery energy storage deployed at Cleve Hill, the largest solar farm planned in the UK to date, will be installed and operated in line with a safety plan agreed with local fire services and the national Health and Safety Executive.
