An energy storage target policy could be an effective way for Australia’s new government to follow through on decarbonisation promises.

Long-duration energy storage has a crucial role to play in decarbonising the global energy system sufficiently to avoid catastrophic climate change as long as its value can be unlocked. 

A new document outlines how Canada can reach its national goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050, but only if the regulatory and policy landscape is radically altered to enable the massive buildout of wind, solar and energy storage. 

There’s still a disconnect between what’s achievable and what is actually being achieved in the drive to decarbonise.
