The world’s largest grid-forming energy storage project, located in Northwest China with a capacity of 300MW/1200MWh, has achieved full-capacity grid connection, utilizing Kehua’s grid-forming system integration solutions.
As the solution provider, Kehua delivered a grid-forming storage system showcasing its strong technical advantages and project management expertise.
In the lead-up to grid connection, the company’s specialized project team carefully reviewed the connection plan, established specific implementation strategies and objectives and focused on detailed testing, subsequently conducting thorough assessments and tracking of related tasks to ensure that all prerequisites for power reception were effectively met.
During the connection process, the project team coordinated efforts and closely monitored the operational status of the equipment, successfully completing tasks such as equipment debugging, system testing, various safety inspections and the power connection operation, resulting in a successful first-time connection.
The project is the largest of its kind in the global lithium iron phosphate battery storage sector, setting a benchmark for grid-forming energy storage solutions worldwide. It plays a significant role in the energy transition of China’s Northwest region and contributes positively to the development of new power systems.
Once operational, the project will not only provide robust energy storage support for local wind and solar power sources, but also supplement the grid during peak electricity demand periods, effectively alleviating the power supply and demand imbalance and promoting the sustainable and healthy development of the local renewable energy industry.
