Jinko ESS has announced the expansion of its UK project portfolio with a second 140MWh grid-scale energy storage system. The first 140MWh phase of the project is currently in the delivery stage, and together the two phases bring a combined total of 280MWh, representing one of the country’s largest battery storage deployments. Both phases feature Jinko ESS’s cutting-edge Utility G2 5MWh liquid-cooling containerized systems.
The Utility G2 systems are expressly engineered for the UK’s demanding climate, maintaining >94% round-trip efficiency even at -10°C temperatures through advanced liquid-cooling that ensures ±2.5°C cell temperature differentials. The solution retains its IP55-rated environmental protection against rain/snow ingress and integrates the Smart Cloud Management Platform for optimized grid response.
Jinko ESS GM for Europe Roberto Murgioni commented: “This long-term partnership reflects profound market confidence in our technology. Our G2 systems continue to demonstrate the performance, resilience and safety needed to support the UK’s fast-growing energy storage sector.”
