Jinko ESS has announced the full-capacity delivery of a 5.96MWh energy storage system for a project in the Philippines. Located in Masbate, the project involves the supply of stable power support for gold mining and refining operations via the company’s SunTera liquid-cooled ESS.
Upon commissioning, the project will optimize energy costs by smoothing peak and off-peak electricity loads (peak shaving and load shifting), significantly reducing power expenses across the mining area. Furthermore, it will enhance grid stability and disaster resilience in these remote zones, ensuring operational continuity, substantially reducing reliance on diesel generators, cutting carbon emissions by thousands of tons annually and advancing the site’s transition toward cleaner operations.
Bright Wang, GM of Jinko ESS for the Asia-Pacific region, commented: “This marks the first large-scale application of Jinko ESS’s SunTera liquid-cooled storage system in the Philippine mining sector. Facing harsh tropical island conditions—high temperatures and humidity—the system has demonstrated exceptional environmental adaptability and reliability, laying the groundwork for our expansion across Southeast Asia.”
