Jinko ESS has announced the commissioning of three units of its 3.44MWh Utility G1 liquid-cooled energy storage system for Romania’s Zorleni project which, designed to support local grid and renewable energy integration, will contribute to the country’s energy transition goals. The project also marks a significant step in Jinko ESS’s expansion in the Southeastern European market.

Tailored to Romania’s specific climate and grid conditions, the Utility G1 system features an intelligent Battery Management System (BMS), enabling cell-level real-time monitoring and thermal runaway warning, combined with a five-layer protection architecture and IP55 protection rating.

As Jinko ESS’ official distributor in Romania, SolarToday played a key role in coordinating project delivery and ensuring seamless integration with local stakeholders. In parallel, PowerKonnekt supported the project with its advanced Energy Management System (EMS), enabling efficient control, monitoring and optimization of the storage system to maximize performance and operational reliability.

Jinko ESS GM for Europe Roberto Murgioni commented: “The successful commissioning of the Zorleni project marks an important milestone for Jinko ESS in the Romanian market. We will continue to work closely with local partners, supporting the country’s energy structure optimization with advanced storage technology and jointly promoting the clean energy transition in Southeastern Europe.”
