Solar & Storage Live 2018, the trade exhibition organised by Energy-Storage.news' & PV Tech's publisher Solar Media, opens its doors in a week’s time, with around 4,000 pre-registered visitors expected to flock to the NEC, Birmingham, England. Here’s why this year’s event is not to be missed.

More than 80 exhibitors will pack Hall 3A this year, representing sizeable growth on last year’s show as the industry continues to mature and demonstrate its ability to adapt. Big name exhibitors and sponsors include the likes of JA Solar, JinkoSolar, SolarEdge, EDF Energy, NEC Energy Solutions and Stirling & Wilson, with a growing number of technologies represented on the show floor.
Registration to attend the exhibition is, as ever, entirely FREE and only takes a few minutes. Online registration can be found here. Visitors will also be able to register on the day for free, but pre-booking is strongly recommended to avoid the queues.
Two jam-packed conference theatres
As well as the exhibition, Solar & Storage Live 2018 will once again feature the same kind of industry-leading conference content that has come to be expected of it. This year’s show floor will feature two theatres, running concurrently across all three days of the event. The Solar & Storage Theatre, free to enter, will feature seminars and discussions on all the need-to-know topics for solar and energy storage installers with sessions led by the Solar Trade Association, RECC and the IET amongst others.
Meanwhile, this year also features a brand new inclusion: The Current± Theatre. Current± is Solar Media’s newest publication dedicated to covering the wider energy transition, and the exclusive content at the Current± Theatre has been curated to feature insight and analysis of those exact topics. Speakers include the likes of Committee on Climate Change chair Lord Deben, OVO Energy’s Tom Pakenham, Bulb chief executive Hayden Wood and Pod Point chief Erik Fairbairn.

Celebrate Green Great Britain Week
The government’s Green Great Britain Week (GGBW) runs 15 – 21 October 2018, and Solar & Storage Live runs right through the middle of it as a partner event. We’ll be supporting GGBW throughout the week by highlighting the successes of the solar and energy storage industries, while representatives from the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) are speaking on all three days of the conference. Crucial insight and policy updates
The small-scale renewables and distributed generation sectors are rapidly approaching a critical juncture, with the feed-in tariff set to close to new applicants as of 1 April 2019. Solar & Storage Live has been specifically designed to help ease that uncertainty, providing crucial insight, policy updates and business advice as the sectors continue to mature and evolve. At this year’s exhibition you’ll be able to hear from companies that are at the forefront of the energy transition and experiencing it first-hand.
A near sell-out Solar Power Portal and Energy Storage News Awards
The annual awards ceremony, now customary for the Wednesday evening of the exhibition, is back for a sixth successive year and bigger than ever. We had a record number of nominations this year as more than 150 submissions were made across our 15 open categories. A total of 16 awards will be handed out on the night during our gala dinner ceremony hosted by renowned architect and TV personality George Clarke.
