Sonnen, Germany's market leader in residential energy storage, recently launched its operations in Britain. We met up with Martin Allman, the company's UK country director, to hear about key aspects of the company's strategy.

In the first part of a two-part interview, we learn why identifying partners to work with is so crucial at this early stage of the market, how best to educate customers and other stakeholders on what storage can do, and what sort of potential Sonnen sees in the UK market. We also discuss why "don't believe the hype" should be a key mantra for the industry.

Martin Allman, Sonnen's UK country director talks with Energy Storage News' Andy Colthorpe.

The second part of this interview will be published next week.

Sonnen will be attending Solar Media's Energy Storage Summit at Twickenham Rubgy Stadium, London, on 28 April. The event - featuring 40 high-level speakers and three streams (residential, commercial and utility scale) - will address all the key issues related to storage deployment.
